Also, I do feel like this was a much more 'plot-driven' book, per say, as the characters in this one had mainly one goal: to find the Shadow Key. There were a few plot twists near the end that surprised me, and although some could consider them 'convenient', they didn't bother me as I was reading. Overall, I think the plot in this book was smooth and clear. However, it turned out to be much better than I had expected. He continues to write for the people he cares so deeply about because he believes that, on a deep level, we all long for another world and yearn to do something important.Īfter reading Dreamtreaders, the first book in this series, I was concerned that I wasn't going to like Search for the Shadow Key for several reasons, mainly for lack of themes and semi-flat characters. Sharing information about ""their"" scholarship donor is an important learning experience for the student recipients. (I) - The purpose of the Scholarship is to assist students with demonstrated financial need who identify as being politically conservative through their membership in the College Republican's Club or who are recommended by the faculty of the Political Science Department. The Dean of Admissions will coordinate a multi-faceted program to identify prospective Carlton Scholars, including recommendations from current leaders of student religious organizations. Scholarship recipients are selected through the scholarship award process of Stetson University. Recipients will have demonstrated a high standard of moral character and participated in activities that have reflected a sense of social responsibility. Preference will be given to students committed to Christian ideals, as demonstrated by their strong religious commitment and their leadership achievement in churches and other religious organizations. Scholarship preference is given to students from economically challenged families and/or students who are working to put themselves through college. The purpose of the Doyle and Mildred Carlton Scholarship program at Stetson University is to assist academically qualified and leadership oriented students.
